OUR STORY
In 2020, Milo Bradner Kunkel ("MBK") was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. What followed was an unimaginable journey for Milo, his family, and the relentless support system that he inspired. Although the severity of his condition ultimately proved too much to overcome, all it took was 18 days for Milo to redefine strength and change countless lives forever.
OUR PROMISE
As parents, our entire experience inspired a renewed sense of purpose moving forward: to live better, to do more, for Milo. We made a promise to ourselves to not just take advantage of opportunities to give back - but to create opportunities to do so. Thus, a nonprofit in his name became our vessel to make right on that promise.
The Kunkel Family

For Milo Memorial Fund
As of January 1st, 2026, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (where Milo was born and cared for) has established the For Milo Memorial Fund to provide financial support for families navigating the unthinkable loss of a child.
We passionately believe that no family should be faced with a financial challenge from essential costs of end-of-life care while grieving such a heartbreaking loss.
That's why every dollar we raise going forward will benefit the FMMF at Lurie Children's to ease this burden for families. We are committed to funding this endeavor through 2028 and beyond.
